The Ongoing Advancement of Somethingspace; Away with "Issues"

In the time we've spent publishing Somethingspace, we've worked hard to keep the site growing, regularly adding new features and sections, redesigning areas of the site and tinkering with our various formats to make the whole experience more functional.

Just a few months after the site's inception, in underwent a complete reformatting. In the time since, we have added the mix tapes section, the contributors archive and the tournaments and interviews sections. And, while each of these additional sections, we feel, has added considerably to the value of the site, each has also added considerably to the time it takes to assemble a weekly update, or what we understand to be an "issue" of the site.

Somethingspace's weekly publishing schedule, while creating a regular, reliable system of "issues," has also been limiting. Our occasional inability to assemble a complete issue has resulted in the odd unscheduled week-long break. Keeping up with our own publishing schedule has become a difficulty that we fear may begin to impact the quality of the site's content. And, in some cases, we have likely left readers wondering when the next update might come.

With that in mind, we've decided to implement another change in format.

Instead of the publishing of a new weekly "issue," Monday, March 17 will mark the start of our new, and ongoing, rolling update, which will see new content posted to the site on a less scheduled, but more frequent, basis.

This means that, instead of waiting for each new scheduled update, we'll be posting new content throughout the week. There will no longer be "issues," but there will be more frequent updates to the site -- as many as three or four in a given week.

We're hoping the new format will mean new and interesting content online every time you visit Somethingspace. Yes, that is what we are hoping.

Welcome to the sort of new Somethingspace, ladies and gentlemen. It's a little bit different.

The Editors,

Liam Eagle and Justin Anderson
