Does anyone remember the preview for "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" where they walked along the pier and shoved an old lady into the bay? I do. Better than the actual movie, in fact. And why is that? Well, I believe that it marked an evolutionary step in the way movies were advertised; the invention of "the Teaser." The Teaser is a scene that's not in the movie, but is shown strictly for advertising purposes. It's an exceptional and entertaining way to market your movie, if you ask me.
