Songs With the Word "Rock" in Their Titles

mixed by Liam Eagle

PERFECT FOR:

Cruisin'; Partyin'; Drinkin'; Rockin'.

INTRODUCTION:

Without question, the single most frustrating thing about rock and roll music is that not all of it rocks. What the fuck? There's nothing more irritating than sifting through an album full of shitty ballads looking for the one song that fuckin' rocks. Fortunately, some artists have had the presence of mind to identify their most rockin' songs by including the word "rock" in their titles. "Hey man, I'm rockin, and it says so right here." Simple. And, with few exceptions, every song with the word "rock" in the title kicks ass. That said, here are a bunch of songs with "rock" in the title.

TRACK LIST:

We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions - Queen
Rock You - Helix
Rock You Like A Hurricaine - the Scorpions
I Love Rock n Roll - Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Like a Rock - Bob Seager
I Wanna Rock - Twisted Sister
Rock and Roll All Night (and party every day) - KISS
Rockin' in the Free World - Neil Young
Rock and Roll - Led Zeppelin
I Am A Rock, I Am An Island - Simon and Garfunkel
Rocket - Def Leppard
Rock It - Herbie Hancock

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:

There are several precautions you should take before you begin mixing this tape. First, for god's sake, remove all the fragile shit like vases, empties, etc. from the room you'll be recording in. You will not be able to resist the urge to rock out. Period. So take a minute before you start and make sure there won't be anything around to break when you're wailin' on the air guitar. Second, get a comfortable place to sit, because you will get tired, or overwhelmed, at some point. Trust me. Third (and this is more of a warning than a precaution) the climax of this mix is during the song "I Wanna Rock" by Twisted Sister, when they shout "rock!" over and over. This moment is totally intense. You may freak out or something if you're not ready for it. Just so you know. That's it. Happy mixing.

LISTENING INSTRUCTIONS:

The "Songs With the Word 'Rock' in Their Titles" mix is best enjoyed with your shirt off (this goes for both guys and chicks, haha). Serve it up with an ice cold Coors, unless you're in a car, which is another excellent place to listen to this tape. So is the beach. Or the woods.

ALSO:

Feel free to send me your suggestions if you think I missed anything. But seriously, don't be an asshole and suggest that "Rock and Roll Hoochie Coo" piece of shit.
